Bills of exchange Subsystem
This subsystem is used to exchange, clear and settle bills of exchange and promissory notes. As for cheques, these type of payment instruments are used preferably for high-value transactions, though their use is gradually decreasing year after year.
Bills of exchange may be subject to truncation or not, depending on the amount of the payment. Truncation is the process of exchanging and clearing a payment instrument based on a physical document by using its digital image.
Regarding the figures processed SNCE, the number of transactions processed in 2022 was 1.9 million, with a daily average of 7,500 transactions and an average amount per transaction of 11,900 euros, the highest exchanged in the SNCE.
